It’s been quite a while since I’ve been here. Thank you if you’ve stayed during my absence. Welcome, if this is your first time. Things have changed, because… things change, and I believe in embracing change and impermanence. These little letters from me will be weekly, but not emailed. You can find them in this section.
This month, Evelyn Henry is doing some expanding, as am I, personally. It feels wonderful to have gotten myself to this stage of a dream. To take control of some narratives that have previously been loose in the wind, and begin to get a firm grasp on what it means to pursue your dreams and passions in times of unrest and uncertainty. Right now, what feels bigger than the uncertainty, is the growth. Not the fear, but an unwavering commitment to the growth under any and all conditions.
This week, the topic at EH is INANIMATE OBJECTS. How the objects we are drawn to and derive joy from, can help map our journeys to personal style and expansion. It’s a piece that asks you to deviate from the typical, societal narrative for inspiration. That asks you to imagine, play, do a lot of critical thinking and some personification. As is the driving goal behind Evelyn Henry, it asks you to be open to knowing yourself, and the world in different ways. To always, always question things - even if that thing is you and your love of very heavy and specific spoons and what in the world could that mean about your shoes. Trust me, my tisms spoon self knows the connection between my beloved utensils, and my fav chunky, handmade and patinaed, large silver hoops. And…all my other belongings.
All the other interconnectedness to the world is also intentional, but Evelyn Henry is not here in reaction to the times. Or to challenge them as a focus and reason for being. We have simply arrived at the same time, and I do not make my existence, nor dreams, nor company, nor giant pants and shirts smaller for anyone. The same way that I’m not really choosing the heavy spoons, it’s just a part of who I am.
Outside of EH news, I’d like to share that my art site now exists. All info on how to contact me on the art front is on the site. Loved building this. Except when I almost pulled all of my hair out, but besides that, it was great. It’s the skill that I gathered at the end of the experience that makes it great. About to do another one.
Okay, I hope you enjoy this more focused road and… it really hurts my heart to only share into the void. Restack a post. Talk to me in the new chat and in the comments. Share it with a friend.
See you in the stacks and as always, it is that deep.
